Episode 8 from Port Solent to Lymington

Well what a lovely sail we had and so many boats going all directions. We  arrived Thursday with the plan to install the new windlass Friday. Have a visit with my best friend from school Sindy. Our time in Lymingtion was all about wonderful people. Sindy worked all day then hopped onto her motorbike and drove through the New Forest to meet up. We talked our heads off, drank tea and had a feast of Fish and Chips. Then Sindy had to get on her way as the New Forest has a heard of wild pony's and so we were all keen that she not be on the road after dark. She did meet a few on her way so  it was good she was in daylight as there is nothing reflective on a pony. Saturday we had a visit with my Nephew (Godson)a Sam and his eldest. Well that was great we figured out the logistics for Sunday when he was with the whole family for lunch. The Saturday market was still going while we walked about.

On the pontoon at Lymington.

Ship towing a tug was odd to see.
This boat cross in front of us as a fighter jet soard overhead. Took us a bit to figure what we were hearing was from above.
 Down by the town quay.
Friday rain all day was the forecast so we figured out a fort to keep Noel sheltered. It was a limited success as you see, but fun idea.
We got the dingy with that name in place and it was too perfect when you figure Noel middle name is bear. (Good thing I had my pants on)
Much was done blind.
Some could be done in the cabin. Here Noel is crimping on terminal rings for the electrical connections.
All set, now the rain is heavy.
More work by brail, this time with longer bolts. (No I'm neither dead or sleeping.)
Sun shining and the motor is running.
Saturday, break from the market early morning visit, this also included breakfast. Love the wee jugs of milk.Anchor chain marking nail polish and spray paint for the anchor. We find the anchor painted white is helpful when hoisting or finding it on the bottom.
Ferries to the Isle of White are frequent and the channel is narrow, at high tide not so stressful but when we arrived at low tide it was daunting passing mid channel.
 Departing Lymingon heading to Poole.
So no photos of Sindy's visit nor that of the Sam's, why well we were talking too much. It was so lovely to see each other. Covid-19 and lockdowns has left us very grateful for being able to see each other again and we really appreciated everyone taking time to drive and just hang out.

So ends this blog, we are getting behind but trying to get back on track.
