The Tour

                                                                      THE TOUR.
                                                               In a Paddy Wagon!
Not the one some of you probably had a ride and the one I drove in Toronto when I was on the list.
It started when Ted (up North) & Marie and John and Susan arrived in Dublin. I took the bus up to meet them all and have a night out in the Big city. I managed to meet T&M  and had a walk about after I had checked into the same Hotel. Turned out to be a very high priced dump! After a couple of false starts we managed to meet up on Connell street. Sally joined us later. After a miserable night of not much sleep we walked over to the Paddy Hostel where we met John and Susan and 5 others who were on the tour with us and our driver Sean. We got underway for our 1st stop at Glendalough an Old Monastic site in the Wicklow mountains We spent a couple of hours there and Sally and I managed to get a Geo Cache. Then off over Sally’s road, over the mountains to Kilkenny where the others did a tour of the Castle and Sally and I went for a nice lunch. The day ended with us all in Waterford. The rest stayed in a nice Hotel we opted for a quiet night on the boat.
Haa the quiet night wasn’t T and J showed up sans wives. With 2 BIG bottles of Captain Morgan Dark!
3 of us managed to get through it all especially when one who shall remain nameless not I tossed the cap over the side! Sally finally got up at 0500 to chase the others home. (praise the lord) Problem though everyone except Sally is legless! And the pontoon moves, up and down, back and forth and side to side in no particular order. There were a lot of murmers hail mary’s  some other promises to the dieties of choice stumbles and hanging ons. We all managed the trek without getting wet. Then. We got to the Hotel.
We were met at the door by a rather large security person who said in a Polish accented Irish voice. “No way HOSay, Your not coming in here. Ooops hadn’t thought of that. What to do now No Way are they coming back to the boat! Sally to the rescue (Not that she was pleased with the whole situation). “It’s OK they have rooms here and their wives are inside worried about them (the last part is an untruth) They got in.
Sally helped me back to the boat.
2 !/2 hours later I was rudely awaken to.” Get your sorry butt up and out I’m going to church and your doing a tour of Waterford Crystal then we’re catching the tour bus” I jumped for joy. Managed a cup of tea and a shave (good thing for safety razors). Then walked to the tour Sally met John They went off to Church and I did the tour with Susan and Marie. I wasn’t blamed for what their respective husbands did. Ted was nowhere to be found.
The bus arrived we loaded our bags Teddy showed up and off we went .
The rest of the tour went off without a hitch until the last day. We had made arrangements to change the first nights’ accommodation in Waterford to the last night in Dublin in what we thought would be comparable rooms.
We arrived back in Dublin to the Paddy Hotel to be told nope no private rooms we don’t have any! But you can have a room on the top floor with an onsuite. We trudged up 4 flights of rickety narrow steps to be shown a room with 4 bunk beds with no place to sit Someways worse than the first night. We said nope not good enough should be like for like not a room you charge !5 euro for that we paid 80. Doesn’t matter. Eventually we never got our money back. We managed to get a very nice room next door in a nice hotel. Sally and I had a nice dinner a good nights sleep and flew back to Canada on April 1.
